Craft Baker : Variable Shifts

Luke Evans Bakery are seeking to recruit a Craft Baker with a proven skill base in a Craft Bakery / Artisan Bakery environment. We are a high quality operation, still using traditional hand methods, alongside modern machinery and bread roll plants.

This is a busy bakery, but you will be joining us at an exciting time as we look to expand this business with new ideas, driven by a new management team, and lots of interesting opportunities.

A typical shift would be working 5 days out of 6, Sunday through to Friday, approx. 39-42 hours per week, commencing work from either 5am, 9am or 1pm.

Rates are hourly or salary and rate dependent on experience.

We operate a variable a shift system, so you would cover a wide range of differing bakery jobs.

Duties include:

Prepare doughs by measuring and mixing ingredients to form dough, cutting dough into portions, moulding dough into loaves or desired shapes and setting out on to trays and tins.
Manage the ovens.
Wrapping and slicing.
Filling fresh cream cakes.
Loading orders for customers

Skills / Qualifications:

Bakery skills and experience (including weighing and mixing doughs, baking in rack and deck ovens and piping fresh cream).
Teamwork
Quality - Attention to detail
Knowledge and experience in a commercial or retail bakery
Safety Management
Multi-tasking
Reliability
Willingness to learn
Food Safety Level 2 (We'll provide the course if you don't have it)
