Overview

We are seeking a skilled Industrial Sewing Machinist to join our upholstery team. This role involves operating industrial sewing machines to produce high-quality products in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will have experience in sewing and a background in working in a workroom or similar settings. This position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to develop their skills within a dynamic organisation committed to quality and efficiency.

Duties

Operate various types of industrial sewing machines with precision and consistency
Follow detailed technical specifications and production guidelines to ensure product quality
Inspect finished products for defects, ensuring adherence to quality standards
Maintain and troubleshoot sewing equipment, performing basic repairs when necessary
Organise workstations efficiently to optimise workflow and minimise downtime
Assist with material handling, including loading and unloading fabrics and finished goods
Adhere strictly to health and safety protocols within the manufacturing environment
Able to work with all types of fabrics including leather, lettherette, velvet and so many more

Experience

Proven experience operating industrial sewing machines is essential
Previous experience is highly desirable, demonstrating familiarity with logistics and material handling
Strong sewing skills, with attention to detail and craftsmanship
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high standards of quality
Organised, reliable, and capable of following technical instructions precisely
Familiarity with health and safety regulations relevant to manufacturing settings is advantageous
