Welder/Pipefitter

Esterchem Ltd, a family-owned company who specialise in the manufacture of organic Esters.

A vacancy has arisen for the position of Welder/Pipefitter, reporting directly to the Engineering Manager.

This is a full-time position - 40 hours week, 08:00 – 16:00, Mon-Fri. Overtime available as required by the company.

Liaising closely with Engineering and Production staff, you will provide a technical service to the company by:

Fabricating pipework to company specifications, for both pressure and non-pressure systems
Fabricating structural steelwork
Installing pipework and steelwork, in line with the company permit to work procedures
Assisting the mechanical technicians with other maintenance activities, in- and out-of-hours

The ideal candidate will be:

Educated to (ideally) a level 3 apprenticeship standard in a relevant engineering discipline
Experienced in TIG welding (coded welder preferable)
Experienced in MIG welding (coded welder not essential)
Experienced working within the chemical sector or similar
Able to work as an individual with minimal supervision
Be able to work on multiple projects at any given time
Have excellent communication skills
Health and safety focussed
