Overview
We are seeking a reliable, friendly & dedicated Pharmacy Dispensing Assistant to join our healthcare team. This role involves supporting pharmacists in dispensing medications, providing excellent patient care, and ensuring the smooth operation of pharmacy services. The ideal candidate will have a strong attention to detail, excellent organisational skills, and a passion for patient wellbeing. Previous pharmacy experience and knowledge of medication administration are essential for this role. This position offers valuable experience within a professional healthcare environment and is paid accordingly.

Responsibilities

Assist pharmacists in dispensing prescriptions accurately and efficiently
Prepare medication and ensure correct medication is supplied to patients
Support with inventory management, including stock checks and ordering supplies
Provide guidance to patients on medication usage and answer basic queries under supervision
Maintain accurate records of dispensed medications in compliance with legal and safety standards
Support with administrative tasks such as data entry and filing patient information
Uphold strict confidentiality and adhere to all health and safety regulations within the pharmacy setting

Experience

Previous experience as a dispensing assistant or in a similar role is preferred
Knowledge of the day to day pharmacy operations.
Strong organisational skills with an ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently
Excellent communication skills, demonstrating empathy and professionalism when interacting with patients
Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
A recognised qualification in dispensing or related field is desirable but not essential.
