Full job description

About the Role

The Maintenance Team Member supports the Grounds & Maintenance Manager with day-to-day maintenance tasks for the whole site, including carrying out safety checks, repair works and grounds maintenance. The Maintenance Team Member reports directly to the Grounds & Maintenance Manager.

Main Tasks

Maintenance Work

Be a proactive member of the team, taking responsibility for keeping the site in the best possible condition including the play equipment and the gardens.
Ensure all planned maintenance work is completed in a timely manner, liaising with other departments and prioritising safety critical work above all else.
React appropriately to all unplanned maintenance work.
Support other departments in relation to their maintenance needs.

Inspections

To carry out detailed daily inspections of all play equipment when the site is open to the public.
To carry out detailed daily inspections of all public aspects of the site when the site is open to the public.
To keep detailed and accurate records of any maintenance issues, taking responsibility for seeing that issues are resolved.

Materials and equipment ordering

To support the Grounds & Maintenance Manager by keeping accurate records of materials used and material requirements.

Paperwork

To support the Grounds & Maintenance Manager to ensure all paperwork, including vehicle checks, risk assessments, training records, COSHH and NEBOSH documentation is up-to-date and stored correctly.

Other duties

Maintain BeWILDerwood values in everything you do - we’re all about families playing together in a happy safe place.
Manage and maintain strong relationships with staff, both seasonal and full time, in all areas of BeWILDerwood.
Carry out any other duties that may be reasonably required.
Be kind to animals, little people and creatures as one day they may rise up and get you back.
Read the BeWILDerwood books (with your kids if you have them) and get a feeling for the stories they tell and the creatures who live at BeWILDerwood.

Uphold your legal duty to take care of your own Health and Safety and that of your colleagues

This is an entry-level, full time role that requires a flexible approach to hours and days worked.
