Full job description

The Ambleside Salutation Hotel & Spa independently owned and operated are looking for a new team member to join our existing team, in the welcoming back and looking after our resident only guests to the hotel.

Your role as the hotels Night Porter will be varied and exciting in helping keep the hotels high standards throughout the night, when the hotel is at its quietest, in return for looking after the hotel overnight you will become an integral part of our family who will receive all the support required with an excellent package and benefits.

Up to 6 weeks annual holiday
Christmas Off (Hotel is closed 18th December Re-Opens 27th December)

Bonus Scheme in Operation plus Gratuities Paid Quarterly
Straight Shift 11pm till 7.30am (40 hours over 5 days)
Paid Monthly on a Salary Basis (£2288.00 Live Out Per Month)

Live in positions may also be available.

You will be in charge of the hotel once all the day staff finish their shifts and be expected to manage all Fire / Health & Safety procedures throughout the night and if any issues occur and the need arises have the ability to enact our Emergency Action Plans if required with the assistance of our dedicated team.

The Nightly routine will be based on the below

Taking over the management of the Hotels Bar & Reception which normally closes at midnight depending on demand
Assisting our Residents if required throughout the night in case of an emergency and to assist in any requests, you will also have the ability to check in and check out guests using the hotels property management system Guestline (training will be given)
You will perform regular security & maintenance checks of the property and ensure the hotel follows the same high standards throughout the night as we do during the day
As part of our nightly routine you will be expected hoover and clean the ground floor public areas within the hotel. Clean and make sure the leisure club is ready for the next days guests arrival at 7.30am, you will also prepare the hotels restaurant for breakfast and prepare the hotel for reopening and the arrival of your day time work colleagues from 7am onwards.
You should have good communication and organisational skills and the desire to become a key member of our family. You must be able to speak English to a good standard and be eligible to work in the UK and provide appropriate documentation to support this.
