Job Summary

Join our dynamic culinary team as a Kitchen Porter, where your energy and enthusiasm will keep our kitchen running smoothly and efficiently. In this vital role, you’ll be the backbone of our food service operation, ensuring cleanliness, organization, and readiness for every shift. Your dedication will support chefs and kitchen staff by handling essential cleaning and prep tasks, creating a safe and welcoming environment for both staff and guests. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a fast-paced hospitality setting, perfect for those passionate about food, cooking, and hospitality.

APPLICANTS MUST BE ABLE TO WORK ON A ROTA BASIS TO INCLUDE WEEKDAYS, EVENINGS AND WEEKENDS

Responsibilities

Maintain cleanliness of all kitchen areas, including floors, work surfaces, utensils, and equipment to uphold health and safety standards.
Assist with basic food preparation tasks such as washing vegetables, peeling ingredients, and organizing supplies to support the culinary team.
Ensure all dishes, cookware, and utensils are properly washed, sanitized, and stored after use.
Support the setup and breakdown of kitchen stations before and after service shifts to ensure smooth operations.
Manage waste disposal efficiently while adhering to recycling protocols to promote sustainability.
Help with stock rotation and inventory organization to ensure ingredients are fresh and accessible for cooking staff.
Follow all health and safety regulations diligently to maintain a clean, safe working environment.

Requirements

Previous experience in a restaurant or hospitality environment is preferred but not mandatory; enthusiasm and willingness to learn are key!
Basic knowledge of food preparation techniques and kitchen hygiene practices.
Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physically demanding tasks with energy and efficiency.
Strong teamwork skills with a positive attitude towards supporting culinary operations.
Familiarity with hotel or restaurant settings is a plus but not essential; training will be provided.
A genuine interest in hospitality, cooking, or culinary arts is highly valued.
