Full job description

Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Head Chef to lead our culinary team. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of food preparation, ensuring the highest standards of quality, safety, and presentation. This role requires strong leadership, exceptional culinary expertise, and the ability to manage a busy kitchen environment effectively. The Head Chef will play a pivotal role in maintaining our reputation for outstanding cuisine and excellent service.

Responsibilities

Lead and supervise the kitchen team, providing guidance and training to ensure efficient operations
Oversee food production, ensuring dishes meet quality standards and are prepared in a timely manner
Develop innovative menus that reflect current culinary trends while catering to customer preferences
Manage food safety protocols and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations
Coordinate with suppliers to maintain optimal inventory levels and control food costs
Monitor kitchen operations during service hours to ensure smooth workflow and exceptional customer experience
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen environment in accordance with hygiene standards
Assist in recruiting, training, and evaluating kitchen staff to foster a motivated and skilled team

Requirements

Proven supervising experience within a professional kitchen environment, preferably in a restaurant or hospitality setting
Extensive culinary experience with strong skills in food preparation, cooking, and presentation
Demonstrable leadership abilities with experience managing a diverse team of kitchen staff
Knowledge of food safety standards and regulations
Experience in food production and managing high-volume service periods
Excellent organisational skills with the ability to multitask under pressure
Strong understanding of hospitality operations, including serving procedures and customer service principles
Previous restaurant experience is highly desirable, along with a passion for innovative cuisine and quality assurance

Pay: £14.00-£16.00 per hour
