Person Specification

Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and organised Site Volunteer Co-ordinator to oversee volunteer activities at Heckington Windmill. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating volunteer rotas, ensuring smooth operations on-site, overseeing events and induction of new volunteers. This role offers an excellent opportunity to utilise leadership, project management, and organisational skills within a dynamic team.

Responsibilities

Work closely with the volunteer teams and the Trustees to ensure smooth and effective delivery of activites on site
The Site Volunteer Co-ordinator must demonstrate the capability and sufficient experience to carry out the duties listed below to manage the site & volunteers.
To work with existing volunteers and recruit new ones to the windmill and take oversight on inductions for new volunteers
To promote the windmill with regular Social Media posts & updates
Maintain a rota of volunteers to ensure there is sufficient cover for all periods when the site is open, and to ensure there is sufficient staff for known busy periods and special events.
Be available for special events, helping to co-ordinate and run events with the teams

Person Specificiation

Experience of dealing with the public, staff and volunteers
Experience of Health & Safety would be an advantage
Computer literacy, including MS Office, and social media
A good level of written and spoken English, with good communication skills
Ability to enthuse and motivate teams and be self-motivated
Ability to work confidentiality with little supervision
Willingness to be hands on and get involved as required
Some experience of looking after a site with a wide range of facilities and\or facilities management would be an advantage
Be physically fit to set up events and rooms
Must live within easy reach of the site
