Location: Hemel Hempstead, HP2 7HZ
Pay: £13.45 per hour
Hours: Average 42 hours per week: 4 on, 4 off working nights 6pm - 6am

We are currently recruiting a professional Security Officer to deliver a high-quality security service at a major global energy client site. The successful candidate will play a key role in protecting employees, property, and assets while ensuring all duties are carried out in line with assignment instructions and site requirements. This position requires a strong customer-focused approach, consistently demonstrating integrity, vigilance, and helpfulness in a dynamic and high-profile environment️

As a Security Officer, your key responsibilities include preventing and deterring unauthorised access, monitoring fire alarms, intruder systems, and CCTV, as well as carrying out regular internal and external patrols. You will also be responsible for access control, traffic and parking management, routine equipment checks, and key handling in line with site procedures. A proactive approach is essential, ensuring all security protocols are followed and that a safe and secure environment is maintained at all times.

Job Description

Responsibilities

You’ll play a vital part in keeping people, property, and information safe. That includes:

Prevent and deter unauthorised access to site. Monitor fire alarms, intruder alarms and CCTV as appropriate
Conduct external and internal security patrols as detailed in the Assignment Instructions
Manage keys and perform locking and unlocking duties as detailed in the Assignment Instructions
Carry out routine tests of security equipment where appropriate
Maintain all logbooks and records as detailed in the Assignment Instructions
Issue visitor/contractor passes in accordance with the Assignment Instructions
Provide support, guidance and information to all staff, visitors and contractors whilst ensuring the safeguarding of the premises

Qualifications

What we’re looking for:

A valid SIA licence
Smart and reliable
Computer literate
Ability to carry out patrols
The right to work in the UK, with a 5-year checkable history
