Our Elan Preschool in Haywards Heath is looking for a caring and enthusiastic Third in Charge to join our team. You will play a key role in caring for, supporting and inspiring our children, encouraging curiosity and helping them thrive every day. The role will form part of the Management team as a Third in Charge but will also be a Room based Preschool Room Leader, so a great role for someone wanting that step into nursery management.

About Our Nursery
Our Preschool was rated Good by Ofsted and is a beautiful converted home with two bright, spacious rooms for children aged 2–5.
Children enjoy a large, secure garden with slides, climbing frames, a mud kitchen, and water play, with free-flow access between indoors and outdoors. Weekly yoga sessions and regular sports activities support physical development and wellbeing.
We are proud of our strong reputation for preparing children for school, with excellent feedback from local schools and a Nursery of the Year award in 2025.
Our experienced, long-standing team creates a positive, supportive environment for both children and staff.

What will you be doing

Supervising and supporting children at all times
Preparing and supporting activities under the guidance of Level 3 qualified practitioners
Maintaining a safe, engaging and welcoming environment
Following company policies, safeguarding procedures and operational practices
Building positive relationships with children, parents and colleagues
Attending staff meetings, planning sessions and training as required
