About Velvet Hotel

Velvet Hotel is a stylish boutique hotel located in the heart of Manchester's vibrant Canal Street. We pride ourselves on delivering exceptional guest experiences through outstanding service, attention to detail, and a welcoming atmosphere.

The Role

We are looking for a friendly, professional, and customer-focused Receptionist to join our front-of-house team. As the first point of contact for our guests, you will play a key role in creating a warm and memorable experience from check-in to check-out.

This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced hospitality environment, enjoys interacting with people, and is committed to delivering exceptional customer service.

Key Responsibilities

Welcome guests with a warm and professional manner.
Manage guest check-ins and check-outs efficiently.
Handle reservations, cancellations, and room allocations.
Answer telephone and email enquiries promptly and professionally.
Provide information about the hotel, local attractions, and services.
Process payments and maintain accurate guest records.
Resolve guest queries and complaints in a courteous and timely manner.
Liaise with housekeeping, maintenance, and other departments to ensure a seamless guest experience.
Maintain a clean, organised, and welcoming reception area.
Follow hotel policies, procedures, and health and safety standards.

About You

We're looking for someone who has:

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
A positive, friendly, and professional attitude.
Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
The ability to multitask and remain calm under pressure.
Good computer skills and confidence using booking or property management systems.
Flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including evenings, weekends, and bank holidays.
Previous experience in hospitality or customer service is preferred but not essential, as full training will be provided.
