Reports To:

General Manager / Director

Role Overview

The Venue Event Manager will lead the planning, sales, and execution of corporate and private events across a diverse, multi-functional venue including function halls, outdoor festival grounds, art exhibition spaces, restaurant & café, and accommodation.

This role requires a commercially driven professional who can maximise revenue, deliver premium guest experiences, and coordinate complex, multi-space events.

Key Responsibilities

1. Event Sales & Business Development

Drive corporate bookings including conferences, exhibitions, festivals, weddings, and private events
Manage inbound enquiries and convert them into confirmed business
Conduct site visits and client presentations showcasing all venue facilities
Develop event packages combining venue hire, catering, accommodation, and exhibitions
Build relationships with corporate clients, agencies, and local partners

2. Event Planning & Coordination

Plan and coordinate events across:
Indoor function suites
Outdoor festival/event grounds
Art exhibition spaces
Restaurant and café
On-site accommodation
Produce detailed event briefs, schedules, and function sheets
Coordinate logistics including staging, AV, catering, and layout planning

3. Operations & Event Delivery

Oversee on-the-day execution ensuring seamless operations across multiple areas
Coordinate cross-functional teams (front of house, kitchen, housekeeping, technical staff)
Manage suppliers, contractors, and entertainers
Troubleshoot issues in real time with a proactive approach

4. Client Experience Management

Act as the primary contact for clients from enquiry to post-event follow-up
Deliver a personalised, high-end hospitality experience
Handle feedback and resolve complaints effectively
Encourage repeat business and long-term partnership

5. Revenue & Commercial Performance

Achieve and exceed revenue targets across events, F&B, and accommodation
Upsell services including catering upgrades, exhibition add-ons, and extended stays
Monitor budgets, deposits, and final billing

6. Compliance & Venue Standards

Ensure all events comply with licensing laws, health & safety, and risk assessments
Maintain standards across all areas of the venue
Work within local authority and event regulations

7. Marketing & Collaboration

Work with marketing teams to promote events, festivals, and exhibitions
Support social media and promotional campaigns
Represent the venue at networking events and trade shows

Key Skills & Experience

Proven experience in event management within hospitality or multi-use venues
Strong background in corporate events, festivals, or large-scale functions
Commercially driven with strong sales ability
Excellent organisational and multitasking skills
Ability to manage complex, multi-space operations simultaneously
Strong leadership and team coordination skills
Knowledge of food & beverage operations and accommodation management
Understanding of UK licensing and event compliance

Working Hours

Flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and event days
Peak workload during festival seasons and large-scale events

KPIs / Success Measures

Event revenue growth and conversion rates
Occupancy (accommodation linked to events)
Customer satisfaction and repeat bookings
Successful delivery of multi-space events
Growth in corporate partnerships and large-scale bookings

Pay: £24,420.00-£49,079.21 per year
