£115 per day | 5 days per week | Free CPD-accredited training provided | September 2026 start | Located in RG40

Aspira Education is recruiting Transition Workers to join a brand-new SEN Hub. This is an exciting opportunity to support young people aged 11–16 with SEMH, ADHD and other complex behavioural needs as they begin their journey back towards mainstream education.

The new hub has been created to provide intensive support for pupils who require additional intervention before successfully transitioning back into mainstream school. You'll be joining a brand-new team, working alongside experienced HLTAs, teachers and specialist staff to help make a genuine difference in the lives of vulnerable young people.

The Role

As a Transition Worker, you will support students who present with SEMH needs, ADHD and highly dysregulated behaviours. During your first month, you will receive extensive support and mentoring from experienced members of staff while getting to know the pupils, routines and approaches used within the provision.

From October onwards, you will begin working more independently, building positive relationships with students and supporting them both within the SEN Hub and throughout their transition back into mainstream education.

This is a rewarding role for someone who is calm, resilient and passionate about helping young people overcome barriers to learning.

We're looking for people with experience in:

Health & Social Care
Residential Children's Homes
Youth Work
Behaviour Support
Alternative Provision
SEND or SEMH settings
Mental Health Support
Youth Offending Services
Sports Coaching or mentoring young people with challenging behaviour

Experience working with young people aged 11–16 who display challenging behaviour, emotional regulation difficulties or additional needs is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

Build positive and consistent relationships with pupils.
Support students with SEMH, ADHD and other additional needs.
Help pupils develop emotional regulation and social skills.
Work closely with teachers, HLTAs and pastoral staff.
Assist students as they transition back into mainstream education.
Promote a safe, calm and structured learning environment.
Record observations and communicate pupil progress with the wider team.

Requirements

Previous experience supporting young people with challenging behaviour.
Calm, resilient and patient approach.
Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
A genuine passion for improving outcomes for vulnerable young people.
Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).
Right to work in the UK.
