Area Sales Manager – Newton Abbot/Moors

We are seeking an energetic, ambitious Area Sales Manager to drive customer growth and profitability across the Newton Abbot and Moors area. This field-based role focuses on winning the hearts, minds, and spend of our customers, with a priority on high-spend and high-potential accounts.

The Area Sales Manager will be responsible for growing our share of wallet through focused account management, improving account profitability, and building loyalty to Westcountry Foodservice.

Working in close partnership with the telesales, this role includes joint accountability for account performance, ensuring a seamless and consistent customer experience across sales channels.

Key Requirements of the Role:

Sales Growth: Drive revenue growth from existing accounts, focusing on high-potential customers while strategically acquiring profitable new business.
Margin Improvement: Enhance profitability through strategic pricing, an emphasis on high-margin and premium products, and efficient order capture and delivery processes.
Share of Wallet: Actively work to increase each account's spending with West Country Food Service, offering solutions that deepen the customer relationship and broaden product mix within their purchases.
Customer Engagement: Build and maintain strong relationships, gaining a deep understanding of each customer’s needs and presenting tailored solutions that demonstrate added value.

Attributes/Skill Set:

Sales Experience: Proven track record in a sales role, ideally within the food service or distribution industry.

Customer Relationship Skills: Ability to build strong customer relationships and deliver outstanding service.

Commercial Acumen: Understanding of profitability drivers and an ability to balance revenue growth with cost efficiency.
