Full job description

Leeds Castle is one of the South’s top heritage destinations for relaxation, hospitality & experiences that surprise & delight.

A popular visitor attraction offering beautiful gardens & parkland, Birds of Prey Centre, playgrounds, accommodation, functions & weddings and, of course, the Grade 1 listed Castle herself.

Would you like to be a member of the Accommodation Team at the ‘loveliest Castle in the world’ welcoming our special guests enthusiastically, as they arrive for their overnight stay, holiday or the celebration of a wedding?

Position Details:

Part-time: 4 shifts per week - Monday to Sunday - varying days each week.

Reception Hours: 08:00 – 19:00, 7 days a week

Shift Patterns:

Early Shift: 08:00 – 16:30

Late Shift: 10:30 – 19:00

Shifts will be scheduled on a rota basis, to include a mix of early and late shifts across the 7 day week.

Job Summary
We are seeking a friendly and professional Receptionist to join our team. As the first point of contact for our guests, you will play a key role in creating a welcoming and positive experience. You must be well-organised, possess exceptional customer service skills, and thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Duties

With a genuine warm welcome, you will set the tone for every guest's stay. You'll be ready to assist guests from time of enquiry through to check out.
Greet and welcome guests upon arrival, ensuring a positive first impression.
Manage incoming calls with excellent phone etiquette, directing calls to the appropriate departments.
Assist guests with check-in and check-out processes, providing information about services and attractions.
Coordinate bookings and reservations, ensuring accuracy in data entry.
Handle guest inquiries and complaints professionally, striving for resolution and guest satisfaction.

Skills

Previous experience in hotel or hospitality environments is highly desirable.
Strong guest services skills with a focus on customer satisfaction.
Excellent phone etiquette and communication skills, both verbal and written.
Ability to remain calm under pressure while managing multiple tasks efficiently.
Proficient in Microsoft and IT skills, including experience of a Hotel Property System, where possible (Rezlynx - Guestline)
