Full job description

Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated Warehouse Junior Assistant to join our dynamic team, within CHC Group. This entry-level role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals interested in developing their skills within a fast-paced warehouse environment. The successful candidate will assist with various operational tasks, ensuring smooth and efficient warehouse functions. Prior experience is not essential, but a keen willingness to learn and a proactive attitude are highly valued. This paid position provides valuable hands-on experience in warehouse management and materials handling.

Responsibilities

Assist with stock organisation, stocking shelves, and maintaining inventory accuracy
Support shipping and receiving operations, including loading and unloading goods from lorries
Operate forklift equipment safely and efficiently (training provided)
Utilise warehouse management systems such as AS400 for data entry and inventory tracking
Handle materials with care, ensuring proper storage and handling procedures are followed
Participate in picking and packing orders for dispatch
Maintain cleanliness and organisation within the warehouse environment
Support with basic mechanical tasks related to warehouse equipment when necessary

Skills

Previous warehouse experience is advantageous but not mandatory; training will be provided for all essential equipment and systems
Knowledge of forklift operation or willingness to learn is preferred
Familiarity with warehouse management systems such as AS400 is beneficial
Ability to handle materials safely, including heavy lifting when required
Strong organisational skills with attention to detail for stock management and data entry
Good physical condition to support manual handling activities throughout the shift
Effective communication skills and a team-oriented approach
