Flexible Multi-Skilled Panel Beater / MET Technician

Part-Time / Flexible Hours

Looking for a bodyshop role that actually fits around your life?

Not every experienced technician wants — or is able — to work a traditional full-time week.

That’s why we’re offering something a little different.

Tameside Accident Repair Centre is looking for an experienced Multi-Skilled Panel Beater / MET Technician to join our team on a part-time, flexible basis, with working hours that can be discussed and agreed around your circumstances.

Whether you’re stepping away from running your own business, currently subcontracting and would like some regular guaranteed work, looking for hours that fit around family commitments, or simply no longer want to work full-time, we’d be interested in talking to you.

We’re more interested in finding the right person than fitting someone into a standard 40-hour week.

Tameside Accident Repair Centre is a well-established, family-run bodyshop with a strong reputation for quality workmanship and customer care.

We’re a small, close-knit team where people are valued as individuals, not numbers. Experienced technicians are trusted to get on with their job, everyone works together and we believe a good working environment matters just as much as maintaining high repair standards.

The Opportunity

This is a flexible role that could be shaped around the right person.

You could work:

A few full days each week
Shorter days across the week
School-friendly hours
Regular agreed days alongside your own work or other commitments
Another working pattern that suits both you and the business

The important thing for us is finding an experienced technician who takes pride in their work and can become a reliable part of our team.

The Role

The role will involve a mixture of panel and MET work depending on your skills and experience, including:

Panel repairs and panel replacement
Strip and refit work
Mechanical, electrical and trim repairs
Vehicle component removal and refitting
Steering and suspension work
Geometry checks and wheel alignments
Working to manufacturer repair methods
Carrying out quality checks on completed repairs

You don’t necessarily need to do everything on this list. If you are particularly strong in panel work, MET, or a combination of both, we’d still like to hear from you.

What We're Looking For

Previous experience within an accident repair/bodyshop environment
Strong panel and/or MET skills
Good attention to detail and pride in workmanship
Ability to work confidently and independently
Reliable and able to work as part of a small team
Own tools
Full UK driving licence

Relevant ATA qualifications, Hybrid/EV, ADAS or aluminium repair training would be an advantage, but practical experience is equally important to us.
