Plant Operative – Hartham Park

Hartham Park Bath Stone is part of Lovell Stone Group, a growing, well-established family-run business which owns and operates six quarries across the South West. We are passionate about the quarrying and processing of premium British Stone and have an opportunity for a Plant/mine Operative to join the team. Hartham Park is one of the oldest operational Bath Stone mines and our stone is used across the UK, from classically designed country houses to contemporary offices.

Overview

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Plant Operative to join our team at Hartham Park. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating plant machinery used in the day-to-day mining operations. This role requires a good understanding of operating machinery, attention to safety protocols, and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Key Responsibilities

· Operate plant machinery such as excavators, telehandler & dumper.

· Conduct pre-operational checks on machinery.

· Follow safety guidelines and protocols to ensure a safe working environment.

· Perform tasks as directed by leadership team.

· Report any machinery malfunctions or maintenance issues promptly.

· Maintain accurate records of machine usage and maintenance logs.

· Mines Rescue - upon completion of training

Key skills/experience:

· Minerals & extractives/mining/construction/agricultural experience would be beneficial

· Proven experience as a (heavy) plant operative or similar role.

· Valid certification or license to operate (heavy) plant machinery.

· Strong knowledge of safety procedures and regulations.

· Excellent communication & listening skills

· Good time keeping and reliability

The package:

· Permanent, 40 hr contract, Monday to Friday, with no shift or weekend work

· Salary, £29,120 - £37,400 per annum (starting salary dependent on experience)

· Production bonus (once successful probation completed)

· Overtime maybe available

· Opportunity to receive supplemental pay for additional responsibilities, e.g mines rescue qualification/first aid training

· 22 days holiday increasing based on length of service plus statutory bank holidays

· Pension, Life Insurance, SSP, Employee wellbeing support app
