We’re looking for a creative and confident Communications Officer to help elevate our social media channels with fresh thinking, standout visuals and storytelling that shows Buckinghamshire at its best.

You’ll be part of a busy, collaborative and ambitious multidisciplinary team — spanning strategic communications, media, campaigns, internal communications, social media, design and engagement — working together to deliver focused, high‑quality communications that strengthen trust and support our organisational goals.

What you’ll do
- Create lively, engaging content across our social platforms
- Bring new ideas and suggest creative approaches to help tell our stories on a variety of platforms, engaging a range of audiences
- Capture real moments that show the people, places and projects behind our work
- Schedule, publish and monitor content, responding to our audiences in a timely, friendly and human tone
- Track performance and complete thorough evaluations to continuously inform our understanding of what is (and is not) working effectively
- Work with colleagues across the council to uncover and tell great stories
Any-Desk:
As an ‘any-desk’ worker, you’ll need to be connected to our network to access digital folders and resources, but this can either be from home or an office location when required. You will be required to work from the office a couple of times a week, depending on your role and team requirements.
You’re creative, curious and great with people, able to turn everyday activity into engaging content. Organised and tuned into digital trends, you enjoy being part of a busy team that pushes boundaries. You’re confident in a high‑profile, fast‑paced environment, managing multiple priorities with clarity and good judgement, and you thrive on balancing long‑term planning with the flexibility to respond quickly to emerging needs.
