Summary

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Support Worker and Senior Support Worker to join our team at Caritas Homes. In this role, you will play a vital part in providing care and support to children, ensuring their welfare is prioritised and helping them to develop positively in a loving family-like environment. You must be resilient and reliable for this rewarding and challenging role. Shift work includes a sleep in paid at £50 per night.

Responsibilities

Assist in the development and implementation of individual care plans for children.
Provide emotional support and guidance to children in our care.
Engage with children through activities that promote their development and well-being.
Maintain accurate records of children's progress and any incidents that occur.
Communicate effectively with team members, families, and external agencies.
Ensure the safety and security of the home environment.

Requirements – Support Worker

Experience working with children or within the childcare sector is essential.
Strong communication skills to effectively interact with children and colleagues.
Ability to work collaboratively as part of a dedicated team.
Resilient and reliable, mentally and physically healthy.
A caring and empathetic approach towards children's needs.
Basic IT skills for record-keeping and communication.

Additional Requirements – Senior Support Worker

Ability to organise, plan, and take responsibility.
Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both with colleagues and children, verbally and in writing.
Ability to motivate, aid, and guide children in their self-development.
Ability to be flexible and creative.
Ability to set appropriate examples for children at all times.
Ability to genuinely listen and respond responsibly with sensitivity.
Ability to manage children who display disruptive or challenging behaviour and guide/direct staff in managing that behaviour.
Ability to understand and implement Quality Standards.
Ability to react calmly in stressful situations.
Ability to maintain IT-based administrative records as required by the organisation.
Run shifts, delivering high standards of care, love, protection, and support to children, facilitating their physical, psychological, emotional, and social development in line with individual care plans.
Act as an appropriate role model and work closely with children to enable them to achieve their aspirations.
