About the Role

We’re looking for a passionate and reliable Brunch Chef to join our kitchen team.

This is a hands-on role for someone who genuinely enjoys preparing fresh, high-quality brunch food in a busy café environment. You’ll be part of a small, supportive team, helping to deliver consistent dishes, smooth service, and a clean, well-organised kitchen.

What You’ll Be Doing

Preparing and cooking brunch dishes to a high standard
Ensuring food is served consistently, efficiently, and beautifully presented
Supporting prep before and during service
Maintaining a clean, organised, and professional kitchen space
Following food safety, hygiene, and allergen procedures
Working closely with front of house and barista teams to ensure smooth service
Helping manage stock rotation, waste, and daily prep lists
Looking after kitchen equipment with care and respect
Contributing ideas for menu development and seasonal specials where appropriate

Previous experience working in a kitchen or café food environment
High attention to detail and pride in consistent results
Calm, patient, and professional under pressure
Clean, organised, and careful in your working style
Strong communication skills and a respectful approach
Trustworthy, honest, and reliable
Able to be on your feet for long shifts, up to 10 hours
A strong team player who supports others and contributes to a positive culture
Able to work efficiently during busy brunch service
Forward-thinking: you can plan ahead and communicate what the team needs for the next few days

Evidence of Passion — What We Love to See

You don’t need to be a fine-dining chef, but we love applicants who actively care about food and hospitality. That could look like:

Enjoying brunch, café food, and seasonal cooking
Visiting cafés, restaurants, and food-led hospitality spaces
Cooking, experimenting, or developing recipes at home
Taking pride in presentation and flavour
Reading, learning, tasting, and trying new ideas
Understanding the importance of consistency in a busy kitchen

Desirable, But Not Essential

Previous brunch chef, café chef, or breakfast chef experience
Experience with eggs, sourdough, brunch dishes, prep, and service
Food Safety Level 2, or willingness to obtain
Allergen awareness training
Experience with stock control, prep lists, and kitchen opening/closing procedures
