Full job description

Build the Future of Project Finance

BGB Group is a rapidly growing international business operating across the global offshore wind sector, delivering complex subcontracted work throughout the full project lifecycle. With operations spanning the UK, US, Poland and Taiwan, we're continuing to invest in our people, systems and financial capability to support our next phase of growth.

We're now looking for an experienced Project Accountant to join our expanding Finance Team.

This is a genuinely unique opportunity to build something from the ground up. Rather than maintaining existing reporting processes, you'll design and implement the project finance framework that will underpin our international operations for years to come.

Working closely with the Group Financial Controller, Project Managers and Commercial Team, you'll become the finance lead for projects across multiple countries, providing commercial insight that directly influences project delivery and future business growth.

The Role

You'll play a key role in creating and embedding project financial reporting across the Group by:

Project Financial Management

Designing and implementing project reporting frameworks
Developing cost coding structures and project reporting templates
Producing monthly project profit and loss reports
Managing Work in Progress (WIP) calculations and project revenue recognition
Monitoring project performance against budgets and forecasts
Identifying financial risks and cost variances early
Supporting project close-out reviews and lessons learned
Tracking subcontractor costs and purchase orders across international projects

Business Partnering

You'll work closely with experienced Project Managers across the UK, US and Taiwan, helping translate operational performance into meaningful financial insight.

You'll challenge project costs, support commercial decisions, analyse scope changes and become the trusted finance partner for operational teams.

Bid & Commercial Support

Working alongside the Commercial Team you'll:

Support project pricing and tender submissions
Develop robust financial models
Improve estimating accuracy through project feedback
Review margins and identify commercial risks before bids are submitted

Process Improvement

As this is a newly created role you'll also:

Develop project accounting processes from scratch
Improve financial systems and reporting capability
Create standard templates and reporting packs
Help build scalable finance processes that support continued international growth

Team Development

You'll also help improve financial awareness across the wider business by mentoring Project Managers and supporting the development of project accounting knowledge throughout the Finance Team.

About You

We're looking for someone who enjoys building processes, partnering with operational teams and making a genuine commercial impact.

You'll ideally have:

ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualification
Post-qualified experience within project accounting
Experience in Offshore Wind, Renewable Energy, Marine, Construction or EPC environments
Experience developing project reporting frameworks rather than simply maintaining existing ones
Strong commercial awareness
Experience working across multiple countries or entities
Advanced Excel skills
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
Confidence working within a growing business where processes continue to evolve

Experience of earned value management, milestone revenue recognition, WIP accounting, project management systems or tender pricing would be highly advantageous.
