Overview

Join our dynamic kitchen team as a Kitchen Porter/Kitchen Assistant and become an essential part of delivering exceptional dining experiences! This energetic role offers a fantastic opportunity to work in a vibrant hospitality environment, supporting chefs and kitchen staff by maintaining cleanliness, assisting with food preparation, and ensuring the kitchen runs smoothly. Whether you’re passionate about food, eager to gain culinary experience, or looking to build a career in hospitality, this paid position provides valuable hands-on experience in a fast-paced setting.

Responsibilities

Assist with basic food preparation tasks to support the culinary team, including chopping, peeling, and organizing ingredients
Maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards by washing dishes, utensils, pots, and pans efficiently
Help keep the kitchen area tidy and organized, ensuring all surfaces are sanitized and equipment is properly stored
Support the kitchen team during service times by restocking supplies and assisting with plating or serving as needed
Follow health and safety guidelines diligently to ensure a safe working environment for everyone
Dispose of waste responsibly and ensure recycling procedures are adhered to within the kitchen
Assist with inventory checks and stock rotation to ensure ingredients are fresh and available for daily use

Requirements

Previous experience in a restaurant, hotel, or hospitality setting is preferred but not essential; enthusiasm and willingness to learn are key!
Basic understanding of food preparation, cooking processes, and kitchen hygiene standards
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
Strong teamwork skills with a positive attitude towards supporting colleagues
Good physical stamina to stand for long periods and perform manual tasks such as lifting and cleaning
Knowledge of health and safety regulations related to food handling and hygiene practices
Previous experience serving guests or working in hospitality is a plus but not mandatory
