Full job description

Overview

We are seeking a skilled and reliable Mobile Mechanic to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining, repairing, and troubleshooting a variety of equipment on-site at client locations. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a strong mechanical background and a passion for hands-on work. The position involves travelling to different sites, providing on-the-spot repairs and maintenance to ensure equipment operates efficiently and safely.

Duties

Conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance on diverse machinery and equipment at various client sites.
Diagnose mechanical issues using schematics, technical manuals, and diagnostic tools.
Repair or replace faulty components using hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and assembly techniques.
Perform complex repairs including welding, equipment overhaul, and component replacement.
Assist with assembly of new equipment or parts as required.
Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, repairs performed, and parts used.
Ensure all work complies with safety standards and company policies.
Provide exceptional customer service by communicating effectively with clients regarding repair status and recommendations.
Assist in training clients' staff on basic maintenance procedures when necessary.

Skills

Strong understanding of schematics, technical diagrams, and mechanical principles.
Proficient in the use of hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and assembly techniques.
Sound mechanical knowledge with experience in equipment repair and maintenance.
Ability to interpret technical manuals and schematics accurately.
Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose issues efficiently.
Capable of heavy lifting and physically demanding tasks in various environments.
Good organisational skills to manage multiple jobs across different locations effectively.
Strong customer service skills to ensure positive interactions with clients.
Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced setting.
