Aesthetic / Hair Transplant (HT) Technician
Location: Este Medical Group, 7 Portland Road, Edgbaston, Birmingham, B16 9HN
Job Type: Full-time & Part-time roles available
Salary: £150 – £170 per surgery (dependent on experience)
Reports To: Clinic Manager / Lead Surgeon
Who we are looking for:
We warmly welcome applications from experienced clinical technicians, tech-savvy medical professionals, and non-GMC registered medical professionals / foreign medical graduates who possess proven, hands-on experience in hair transplant workflows.
Languages: Tagalog / Filipino or Chinese (Mandarin/Cantonese) speakers are highly preferred to support our diverse patient base.
Key Responsibilities
· Surgical & Clinical Assistance: Assist the surgeon across all stages of hair transplant procedures (FUE/FUT/DHI), including site preparation, graft extraction assistance, and placement.
· Graft Management: Dissect, sort, count, and grade follicular units under high-powered magnification while maintaining optimal graft hydration and viability.
· Aesthetic Treatments: Assist with or perform non-surgical bio-restoration and aesthetic device-based therapies (e.g., PRP, scalp bio-stimulation) under clinician supervision.
· Theatre & Patient Care: Maintain sterile operating theater protocols, set up surgical tools, and provide premium pre- and post-operative care instructions to patients.
Required Skills and Qualifications
· Experience: 1–3 years of hands-on experience specifically within a hair transplant (HT) clinic or high-end medical aesthetic environment.
· Background: Open to clinical technicians, nurses, or non-GMC registered medical professionals with verified experience in hair restoration.
· Technical & Manual Skills: Exceptional manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination for precise graft handling. Competence with standard medical aesthetic machinery.
· Soft Skills: Meticulous attention to detail, strong team collaboration, and a warm, patient-facing demeanor.
Key Advantages & Preferences
· Technique: Prior experience with DHI (Direct Hair Implantation) techniques and implanter pens is highly desirable.
· Languages: Tagalog / Filipino or Chinese (Mandarin/Cantonese) speakers are highly preferred to support our diverse patient base.
Preferred Qualifications
· Certification in phlebotomy (for PRP treatments) or a formal hair transplant assistant diploma.
Working Conditions & Physical Requirements
· Meticulous theatre environment; requires standing, sitting, and maintaining high focus under magnification for extended periods during long surgical sessions.
· Flexible working hours based on scheduled surgery days (applicable to both full-time and part-time staff).
