Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate individual to join our team as a Baker. This role involves working within a dynamic kitchen environment, contributing to the preparation and production of high-quality food items. The ideal candidate will have a keen interest in hand made baking with experience or enthusiasm for food preparation, and maintaining food safety standards. This position offers an excellent opportunity to develop culinary skills and gain valuable restaurant experience in a professional new cafe business.

Duties

Assist in the preparation of various food items, including baking and cooking tasks, ensuring consistency and quality.
Support the food production process by following recipes and standard operating procedures.
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area, adhering to food safety regulations.
Prepare ingredients and assist with food presentation.
Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including ovens, mixers, and other appliances.
Ensure all food is stored correctly and waste is minimised through proper handling practices.
Collaborate with team members to meet service deadlines during busy periods.
Follow health and safety guidelines diligently to ensure a safe working environment for all staff.

Requirements

Previous experience in food production, food preparation, or cooking is desirable but not essential; enthusiasm for learning is equally valued.
Knowledge of food safety standards and best practices within a professional kitchen setting.
Experience in baking or culinary arts will be considered an advantage.
Strong organisational skills with the ability to work efficiently under pressure.
Good communication skills and the ability to work well within a team.
A proactive attitude towards maintaining cleanliness and safety standards in the kitchen environment.
Flexibility to work shifts as required, including weekends. This role provides an excellent platform for individuals looking to build their culinary expertise while working in a supportive team environment committed to excellence in food service.

Job Type: Permanent

Pay: £13.00-£14.00 per hour
