Full job description

£27600 to £29200 (before deductions and based on full time employment and qualifications). Generously enhanced weekend rate.

Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Residential Childcare Worker to join our team in providing a safe, nurturing, and supportive environment for children and young people. The role involves working closely with children to promote their well-being, development, and independence. This position offers an opportunity to make a positive impact on young lives through compassionate care and professional support.

What we offer

Full Induction, in depth training that include introductions to Therapeutic Parenting, CBT and similar.
You will receive annual leave for every hour worked.

Experienced supervisor
A lovely team of adults to work with you and wonderful children to look after.

Responsibilities

Foster a caring and secure environment for children in residential settings
Support children with daily routines, including personal care, meal preparation, and recreational activities
Help develop and implement individualised care plans in collaboration with other professionals
Encourage positive behaviour and social skills through appropriate guidance and activities
Maintain accurate records of children's progress
Assist with transportation needs by driving children to appointments, school, or activities as required
Monitor health and safety standards within the residential environment at all times
Communicate effectively with children, families, colleagues, and external agencies to ensure consistent support

Skills

Experience working with children or in childcare settings is highly desirable
Able to achieve (or already have) a qualification as dictated by the Scottish Social Services Council
Valid driving licence and the ability to drive children safely to various locations
Strong communication skills to interact effectively with children, families, and team members
Knowledge of child development principles and care planning processes
Compassionate approach with excellent organisational skills and patience
Ability to work flexibly within shift patterns that may include evenings or weekends as needed

Pay: £27,600.00-£29,200.00 per year
