Full job description

Job Title: Bookkeeper Assistant

Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Bookkeeper Assistant to support our finance team with day-to-day bookkeeping and administrative tasks. The successful candidate will assist with credit control, maintain accurate financial records, prepare customer statements, manage filing systems, match supplier intakes with invoices.

Key Responsibilities

Assist with credit control by monitoring customer accounts and following up on outstanding payments.
Create and distribute customer account statements.
Maintain accurate filing systems for financial and accounting documents, both electronic and paper-based.
Support the administration of trade insurance, including maintaining records, preparing documentation, and liaising with insurers when required.
Update and maintain accounting records and customer information.
Assist with general bookkeeping and finance administration.
Work closely with the finance team to ensure accurate and timely processing of financial information.
Perform other administrative duties as required to support the accounting department.

Skills and Qualifications

Previous experience in bookkeeping, accounts administration, or a similar finance support role is preferred of at least 2 years
Good understanding of credit control processes.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
Good experience with accounting software Sage Line 50 is an advantage.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to prioritize tasks and work accurately under deadlines.

Pay: £27,000.00-£30,000.00 per year
