Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate individual to join our team as a Kitchen assistant/cook This role offers an exciting opportunity to develop culinary skills within a dynamic environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting in food preparation, ensuring high standards of food safety, and delivering excellent service to our customers. Prior experience in a kitchen or restaurant setting is preferred but not essential, as training will be provided. This paid position is ideal for someone eager to pursue a career in the culinary or hospitality industry.

Responsibilities

Assist in preparing ingredients and cooking dishes according to established recipes and standards
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area, adhering to food safety regulations
Support meal preparation activities, including chopping, mixing, and plating
Ensure all food is stored correctly and stock levels are maintained
Follow health and safety guidelines to prevent cross-contamination and ensure a hygienic environment
Assist serving staff during busy periods, ensuring prompt and courteous customer service
Contribute to a positive team environment by communicating effectively with colleagues

Skills

Experience in food preparation or cooking is desirable but not mandatory; willingness to learn is essential
Knowledge of food safety standards and hygiene practices
Previous experience in a restaurant or catering environment is advantageous
Strong organisational skills with the ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced setting
Excellent communication skills and a friendly demeanour
Ability to work well as part of a team and follow instructions accurately
Flexibility to adapt to varying shifts and responsibilities within the kitchen environment
