Full job description

We’re not your average Pilates studio.

The CTRL is a boutique reformer studio in Southgate, and we’re obsessive about two things: excellent movement coaching and a client experience that actually feels human. We’re based in a converted space in Old Court Mews, equipped with 12 Merrithew V2 Max reformers, and surrounded by a community of clients who show up, work hard, and genuinely enjoy being here.

We’ve been open since late 2025 and we’re growing. We’re not looking to fill slots on a rota, we’re looking for instructors who will help shape the culture of this studio and care as much about the community as they do about the craft.

What you’ll be doing

You’ll teach across our levelled signature and speciality class formats in our 12-bed studio. You’ll be expected to:

· Deliver well-structured classes with strong pacing and smart session planning within our class formats

· Coach technique with precision, not just cue sequences, but genuinely help people move better

· Read the room: offer modifications and progressions confidently, including for common injuries and limitations

· Hold the energy in a 12-bed studio; warm enough to connect with clients, calm enough to lead them

· Create an environment where clients feel known, not processed

· Keep the studio reset and ready between sessions so the space always feels sharp

The kind of instructor we’re looking for

You don’t have to be the loudest person in the room, but you do have to own it. The best instructors we’ve worked with are technically excellent and also genuinely compelling: people who bring real energy, coach with authority, and make clients want to come back.

You’re probably someone who:

· Has been teaching Reformer Pilates for at least a year and genuinely loves the craft

· Gets a buzz from helping a client achieve something they’ve been struggling with

· Reads clients quickly; you notice who needs encouraging, who needs slowing down, who’s been injured

· Has a coaching voice that’s confident without being robotic or overly scripted

· Takes their CPD seriously and actively keeps their knowledge current

· Is reliable, professional, and understands that consistency is part of the service

What you’ll need

· A recognised Reformer Pilates qualification (Level 3 or equivalent e.g. STOTT, BASI, Polestar, Body Control, or similar)

· Demonstrable studio-based Reformer teaching experience

· Valid Public Liability and Professional Indemnity insurance covering Reformer Pilates. These are non-negotiable. Please don’t apply without them.

What’s on offer

· Competitive hourly rate (freelance, self-employed basis) with a clear pay scale progression.

· 2–6 hours per week, with genuine potential to grow as the studio does

· Complimentary Reformer classes and open studio access

· On-site parking

· A small, close-knit team and a studio where your input actually matters

· CPD support and opportunities for ongoing development
