Job Summary

We are seeking a passionate and skilled Cook/Chef to join our culinary team to cover for sickness and holidays. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing and cooking a variety of dishes, ensuring high standards of food quality and safety. This role offers an exciting opportunity to showcase culinary talents in a dynamic environment, contributing to the overall dining experience for our customers.

Key Responsibilities

· Prepare, cook and serve balanced meals to a high standard.

· Support menu planning and adapt meals to meet individual dietary requirements, including texture-modified diets where required.

· Prepare meals in line with residents’ care plans, allergies, nutritional needs and swallowing or texture requirements.

· Follow food hygiene, health and safety, and infection control procedures.

· Maintain a clean, organised and safe kitchen environment.

· Monitor stock levels and help reduce waste through effective kitchen management.

· Work positively with care staff and colleagues to ensure residents’ mealtimes are safe, enjoyable and well organised.

Qualifications

Proven experience in food preparation, cooking, or as a chef within a restaurant or catering environment
Strong knowledge of food safety standards and hygiene practices
Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced setting
Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail in meal presentation and cleanliness
Experience in meal preparation, kitchen operations, and serving is desirable
Culinary qualifications or relevant training are advantageous but not essential
Good communication skills and ability to work as part of a team
