Full job description

The Green Tree Inn, Patrick Brompton & New Venue Near Richmond

Due to our continued growth and the expansion of our business to a second venue just minutes from Richmond, we are looking for an enthusiastic and ambitious Junior Sous Chef to join our kitchen team.

Working closely with our Head Chef, who oversees both venues, you will play a key role in maintaining high kitchen standards, supporting the wider team, and ensuring every dish leaving the kitchen meets our expectations.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Chef de Partie looking to progress or a current Junior Sous Chef seeking a fresh challenge within a growing independent hospitality business.

Key Responsibilities

Supporting the Head Chef in the day-to-day running of the kitchen
Ensuring consistently high standards of food quality, presentation, and service
Leading by example and helping to motivate and develop the kitchen team
Maintaining exceptional standards of cleanliness, organisation, and kitchen discipline
Assisting with stock control, ordering, and minimising waste
Helping to deliver smooth and efficient service during busy periods
Supporting menu development and daily specials
Ensuring all food hygiene, health & safety, and allergen procedures are followed

What We're Looking For

Previous experience as a Chef de Partie, Senior Chef de Partie, or Junior Sous Chef
A strong understanding of Environmental Health Officer (EHO) requirements and food safety standards
Excellent knowledge of kitchen hygiene, HACCP procedures, and best practice
High standards and attention to detail
Strong organisational and communication skills
A positive attitude and excellent work ethic
The ability to remain calm and focused under pressure
A genuine passion for food and hospitality
