Main duties of the job

Job Summary:

To support the practice clinical team by signposting patients to the appropriate healthcare professional or service, working as part of the practices multidisciplinary team.

The Practice Administrator will also be expected to undertake reception duties as part of the role, supporting the practice team in delivering a polite and professional service to the entitled patient population.

Hours are required to be worked to maintain business hours between 8am 6:45pm on a Rota basis. Hours for this specific role are to cover between 8.00am and 6.30pm but you may be required to provide holiday cover at different times. This may include working additional hours, evenings and weekends as and when required.

Overview of your organisation

Prescott Surgery is a 3 Partner practice. In addition to the Partners, the practice has 4 salaried GPs, 2 Nurses, 2 Health Care Assistants and a Care and Community Co-Ordinator.

We are a training practice; all clinicians and staff are very involved in ensuring the trainees gain full experience of all aspects of life in general practice.

We are a dispensing practice, employing a Dispensing Manager, Dispensing Technician and 2 Dispensing Assistants.

We also employ a team of administrators, including a Senior Administrator, a Medical Secretary. The extended Primary Health Care Team of Health Visitors and District Nurses are based in separate accommodation but are in close liaison with our clinical team.

We offer car parking and the NHS pension scheme to all staff.

Pay: £12.71 per hour

Ability to commute/relocate:

Baschurch, Shropshire: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

Education:

GCSE or equivalent (preferred)

Experience:

Customer service: 1 year (preferred)
Administrative experience: 1 year (preferred)

Language:

English (preferred)

Licence/Certification:

Driving Licence (preferred)

Work Location: In person
