Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Commis Chef to join our team on a full-time basis. The successful candidate will assist in food preparation and cooking, ensuring the highest standards of quality and safety are maintained. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to develop their culinary skills within a professional kitchen environment. The Commis Chef will work closely with the Head Chef to deliver exceptional dining experiences for our guests. You will work 5 days out of 7, including weekends and evenings, on a rota basis to support the Head Chef. You will be responsible for running the kitchen independently for 2 days each week, with full support provided.

Responsibilities

Assist in the preparation and cooking of a variety of dishes according to recipes and standards
Support the kitchen team in meal preparation, ensuring timely service during busy periods
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of workstations, adhering to food safety regulations
Assist with food presentation and garnishing to meet quality standards
Follow all health and safety guidelines to ensure a safe working environment
Support in stock rotation, inventory checks, and proper storage of ingredients
Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth kitchen operations and efficient service

Requirements

Previous experience in food preparation, cooking, or a similar role within a restaurant or hospitality setting is preferred
Knowledge of food safety standards and hygiene practices
A willingness to learn and develop new skills
Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment
Good organisational skills and attention to detail
Excellent communication skills and ability to work as part of a team
Flexibility to work various shifts as required by the restaurant schedule
