Job Summary

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Assistant Manager to support the daily operations of our cafe/deli establishment. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership and organisational skills, with the ability to manage teams effectively and ensure excellent customer service. This role offers an opportunity to develop management expertise within a vibrant and fast-paced environment, contributing to the overall success of the business.

Duties

Assist in supervising daily store operations, ensuring smooth workflow and high standards of service.
Lead, motivate, and manage team members to achieve sales targets and deliver exceptional customer experiences.
Oversee merchandising activities, maintaining visual standards and stock organisation.
Support sales management initiatives, including promotional campaigns and product placement strategies.
Handle administrative tasks such as scheduling staff, maintaining records, and preparing reports.
Provide training and guidance to new team members, fostering a positive team environment.
Maintain effective communication with staff and management, ensuring clarity of goals and expectations.
Manage phone etiquette when interacting with customers and suppliers professionally.
Organise stock deliveries, inventory checks, and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.

Requirements

Proven management or supervisory experience within retail or similar environments.
Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage teams effectively.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written; multilingual or bilingual abilities are advantageous.
Demonstrated organisational skills with attention to detail in merchandising and administrative tasks.
Experience in sales management, customer service, or retail management is highly desirable.
Proficient in time management, prioritising tasks efficiently to meet deadlines.
Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced setting while maintaining professionalism.
Strong organisational skills complemented by good phone etiquette and interpersonal skills.
Previous experience in merchandising, stock control, or related areas is beneficial.
