Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Sous Chef to join our dynamic culinary team. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, extensive culinary expertise, and a passion for delivering exceptional food experiences. This role offers an exciting opportunity to oversee kitchen operations, supervise staff, and contribute to the creation of innovative menus in a fast-paced hospitality environment. The successful applicant will be instrumental in maintaining high standards of food quality, safety, and customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

Assist the Head Chef in managing daily kitchen operations, ensuring smooth workflow and efficiency.
Supervise and motivate kitchen staff, fostering a positive and productive working environment.
Oversee food preparation and cooking processes to ensure consistency, presentation, and quality standards are met.
Support menu development by contributing creative ideas and ensuring dishes align with brand standards.
Maintain strict compliance with food safety regulations and hygiene standards across all kitchen activities.
Coordinate with front-of-house teams to ensure seamless service delivery and customer satisfaction.
Monitor inventory levels, assist with stock ordering, and manage waste control to optimise resources.
Train new team members on food preparation techniques, safety procedures, and company policies.

Skills

Proven supervising experience within a professional kitchen setting.
Extensive knowledge of food production, preparation, and cooking techniques.
Strong team management skills with the ability to lead by example.
Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail in food presentation and safety practices.
Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a busy hospitality environment.
Sound understanding of food safety standards and regulations.
Previous restaurant experience demonstrating versatility across various cuisines and service styles.
Exceptional leadership qualities coupled with excellent communication skills.
