Join Gateway's Board of Directors
Do you want to use your professional skills to make a real difference to the lives of vulnerable adults across Highland?
Gateway is seeking two new volunteer Directors to join our Board and help guide one of the region's leading charities as we continue to develop and expand our services.
For many years, Gateway has supported adults throughout Inverness, Easter Ross and Wester Ross through a range of vital services including:
- Care at Home
- Community Housing Support
- Supported Accommodation
Every day, our work helps people live independently, safely and with dignity. As a Board Director, you can play a key role in ensuring that this support continues to grow and evolve to meet the needs of our communities.

As a Director, you will act as both a supporter and constructive challenger, helping ensure the organisation remains financially sustainable, well-governed and focused on delivering its mission.
We're Particularly Interested in People With Experience In:
- Legal services and risk management
- Health or social care
- Finance and accountancy
- Fundraising and income generation
We are especially keen to hear from individuals living in the Highlands who can attend Board meetings in person and bring local knowledge and insight to our discussions.
Time Commitment
- Quarterly Board meetings, typically lasting around two hours.
- Meetings are generally held on Mondays during working hours.
- Meetings take place at our Inverness Head Office, with hybrid attendance options available when required.
What You Need
You do not need previous Board experience. We are looking for people who:
- Share our values.
- Are committed to making a positive impact.
- Can think strategically and work collaboratively.
- Are willing to dedicate their skills and experience to strengthening our organisation.
This is a voluntary role, although reasonable travel expenses will be reimbursed.
