Overview
We are looking for an experienced and dedicated grounds maintenance worker to join our small business.
The ideal candidate will have solid experience in grounds maintenance and/or sports pitch work. The ideal candidate should be able to work independently as well as working closely with others in small teams.
We are looking for a person who is both able to manage and take ownership of their day to day duties, but also be flexible and able to help out with ad hoc tasks and projects that might come our way.
Our business works with grounds maintenance for mostly industrial sites as well as sports pitch work and takes place on various locations around the region.
This is a physical demanding role that involves the use of machinery and power tools.
The successful candidate must be able to arrange transport to the depot for 7.30 am start.
Duties
- Perform regular landscape maintenance, including mowing, strimming, general tidying and hedge trimming.
- Line marking of sports pitches
- Conduct routine inspections of the grounds to identify areas needing attention or repair.
- Maintain equipment and perform minor repairs as necessary.
- Take on ad hoc tasks
- Collaborate with team members to complete projects efficiently and effectively.
Qualifications and skills
Essential:
- Proven experience in grounds maintenance or grounds keeping or sports pitch work
- Full clean driving licence
- Experience using power tools, such as strimmers, hedge cutters ect.
- A keen eye for detail to ensure high standards of maintenance are met.
- Physical stamina to perform manual labour in varying weather conditions.
- Strong work ethics and ability to work independently without supervision
Desirable
- Strong mechanical knowledge
- Experience with tractor work
- Experience driving with a trailer
Preferred qualifications
- Pa1/Pa6
- Chainsaw certification
- Tractor operation skills
- Up to date first aid certificate
