Full job description

John Low Pharmacy is dedicated to providing excellent pharmacy services to our community. We are a busy, family-run community pharmacy located in Shotley Bridge, Consett, County Durham.

As a Pharmacy Assistant/Dispenser, you will be friendly, keen to work with the public, have excellent communication skills and enjoy teamwork. You will be prepared to continually develop your skills throughout your career. You must be a quick thinker and want to work in a fast-paced environment.

Your responsibilities will include dispensing medication accurately, managing stock levels, providing healthcare advice at the pharmacy counter and assisting our pharmacists in helping patients with their medication. You will also assist with handing out prescriptions, receiving deliveries and general housekeeping duties.

You will have a full, clean driving licence so that you can be involved in our prescription delivery service.

We welcome applicants with previous pharmacy experience and those with no experience, including school leavers. We offer excellent training and support to help you work towards a nationally recognised qualification (Level 2 NVQ).

Hours: 40 hours per week Monday to Friday. Please only apply if you are looking for a full-time position AND have a driving licence.
