About Us

Castle Media Ltd is a small, successful publishing and events company headquartered in Hammersmith, with its finance function based in Peasemore, a rural village in West Berkshire. We publish Build It, a leading monthly magazine for self-builders and home renovators.

The Role

We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Accounts Assistant / Credit Controller to join our team on a part-time basis. This is a varied role that would suit someone who enjoys working independently, takes pride in accuracy, and thrives in a small business environment.

While experience using accounting software is beneficial, full training can be provided. Experience with Sage 50 Accounts would be advantageous, along with strong Excel and Outlook skills.

Key Responsibilities

Raising and processing sales invoices
Credit control and debtor management
Revenue reconciliations and analysis
Company credit card reconciliations
Processing purchase invoices and staff expenses
Dealing with supplier queries
Assisting with customer account queries
Liaising with the sales team to resolve invoicing and payment issues
Supporting the finance function with ad-hoc administrative and accounting tasks as required

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively
Good numerical and analytical skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook and other MS Office applications
Strong written and verbal communication skills, including confident telephone manner
The ability to work independently and manage your own workload to meet deadlines
Experience building positive working relationships with colleagues working remotely
Recent administration, finance, accounts, or bookkeeping experience would be advantageous
