Full job description

Trent College and The Elms are thriving independent schools set in beautiful grounds on the Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire border. We provide a flourishing and happy co-educational environment for children.

We are recruiting an enthusiastic and organised team player to join our Finance Department, playing a key role in a busy finance office while working collaboratively with colleagues across the wider school community. The Finance Team is led by the Head of Finance, with the successful candidate reporting to the Management Accountant as part of a supportive and experienced team.

The successful candidate will have experience working in a finance, accounts, or bookkeeping role within a fast-paced office environment. They will be confident in processing financial transactions, maintaining accurate accounting records, and supporting effective financial administration, including areas such as billing, reconciliations, and sales ledger activity.

They will demonstrate strong IT skills, with a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, along with excellent organisational and communication abilities. The successful candidate will also possess strong numeracy and attention to detail, with the ability to manage a varied workload, meet deadlines, and maintain a high level of accuracy and professionalism at all times.

An enthusiastic, proactive approach and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team will be key to success in this role
