Full job description

Birmingham is a city where something is always happening. From packed music festivals and sporting events to busy markets, trade shows and brand pop ups, there are countless opportunities for businesses to connect with people.

City Ends is looking for an energetic Events and Marketing Assistant to support promotional campaigns across Birmingham and the wider region. You will work at a variety of locations, helping well known national and international brands create memorable experiences, attract attention and engage directly with their audiences.

This is a lively, people focused role for someone who enjoys being involved, meeting new people and working in environments where no two campaigns feel exactly the same. One week you could be supporting a city centre pop up, followed by a sports event, trade show, farmers market, corporate function or music festival.

You do not need years of marketing experience. We are more interested in your communication skills, attitude, energy and willingness to learn.

Salary and Perks

A starting salary of £27,000 per year

What you will be doing

Represent national and international brands at pop ups, trailers, trade shows, markets, festivals, sporting events and corporate functions.
Speak with members of the public, introduce campaigns and explain products, services or promotional offers clearly and confidently.
Help prepare event spaces, promotional materials, branded displays, equipment and customer engagement areas before campaigns begin.
Support the delivery of live marketing activities, competitions, product demonstrations, giveaways and interactive brand experiences.
Gather customer feedback, campaign results and useful information to help the team understand engagement levels and improve future events.
Work closely with the events and marketing team to keep campaigns organised, energetic, professional and aligned with each brand’s objectives.

What we are looking for

Excellent communication skills and a natural ability to start conversations with different types of people.
A positive attitude, strong work ethic and the energy to stay engaged throughout busy campaigns and events.
A friendly and professional approach when representing City Ends and its brand partners.
Good organisation skills, reliability and the ability to arrive prepared and on time for campaigns.
Confidence working both independently and as part of a fast moving team.
Availability to work selected Saturdays and Sundays when specific events or campaigns are scheduled.

Experience in events, hospitality, retail, promotions, customer service or sales could be useful, but it is not essential. Full campaign and brand training will be provided.

Working hours

Your standard working hours will be Monday to Friday, 9am to 4pm.

Some campaigns take place during weekends, so you will need to be available for selected Saturday and Sunday events. Weekend requirements will depend on the campaign calendar and will be communicated in advance wherever possible.
