Full job description

We're a Forest Hill greengrocer that grew into a coffee counter, a veg-box round and a small grocery, all run by people who care how a tomato is stacked. We're after a Supervisor to be the one on the floor making sure it's all done right, and showing the team how.

This is the engine-room job. The General Manager sets the direction; you make it happen, shift by shift. When the shop looks immaculate, the produce is fresh, the new starter knows what they're doing and the morning runs like clockwork, that's you.

What you'd be doing

Running the floor. Leading shifts, opening and closing, and keeping service moving when it's three deep at the till and the coffee orders are stacking up. You're the person the team looks to when something needs sorting.
Owning the standards. This is the eye-for-detail part. Produce that looks its best and is genuinely fresh, displays that are full and right, prices and labels correct, the place spotless. You notice the wilted bunch at the back that everyone else walks past, and you deal with it.
Training the team. Bringing new starters up to speed and keeping everyone sharp: how we like things done, how to serve a customer well, how to tell good stock from tired stock. You set the example, and people learn from it.
Keeping operations tight. Deliveries checked in properly, stock rotated, veg boxes packed and out on time, and the daily jobs done without anyone having to chase them.

You'd report to the General Manager and lead the shop-floor team day to day.

You

You've done hands-on retail, hospitality or fresh-food work, and you're ready to be the one in charge of the shift. You've got a real eye for detail; a half-empty shelf or a scruffy display bothers you until it's fixed. You're a natural at showing people how things are done, patient and clear, and you'd rather train someone properly than try to do everything yourself. You stay calm when it's busy. And you care about good food and a shop that does right by its customers.

Being straight with you

You'll be on the floor, not behind a desk. The mornings are early, the work is physical, and weekends come with the territory. And because you set the tone, an off-day from you is felt by the whole team; that's the flip side of the responsibility. If you want to lead from the front and take real pride in how a place runs, it's a good one.
