The purpose of the role is to engage with the service-user client base - predominantly adult residents (aged 18 to 65) with acquired brain injury and / or a history of substance misuse by:
- Working with team members and the psychological team at High View Care to plan and maintain a living environment that is conducive to the well-being of the client
- Providing physical care and psychological support to each individual client based on an assessment of their condition, abilities and capabilities
- To provide a point of reference to junior staff.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
1. The post holder will be responsible and accountable for carrying out the duties and responsibilities of the post with due regard to the Company’s Policies and Procedures
2. Manage a number of Care and Support staff in training as determined by the Unit Manager and provide such workers with full competent supervision and guidance in the pursuit of their duties. Facilitate participation of team members in training and development and assist team member to see the relevance of training to their roles and duties
3. To manage shifts as required and to delegate duties to staff and supervise all aspects of care delivered
4. To assist in the development of person centred care plans for clients that maximise their personal strengths and skills, where appropriate gaining increased independence
5. With the Registered Manager ensure compliance with all Health and safety Legislation, guidance and procedures, ensure all hazards are identified and appropriate action taken
6. Contribute to the maintenance of records as appropriate or defined. Ensure that team members contribute to Unit recordings as required or defined. Assist with maintaining adequate communication within the Unit and within the company, care networks and community. Provide reports as required and ensure completion of reports by team members. Attend meetings as required
7. To assist residents who need help with personal care, dressing, undressing, bathing and the toilet or with their medication
8. To help residents with mobility problems and other physical disabilities including incontinence, and to help in the use of and care of aids and personal equipment
9. To care for residents who are temporarily sick and to help care for residents when they are dying
10. To help produce and/or implement activities aimed at promoting individual client cognitive / emotional / behavioural progress
11. Work closely in collaboration with key workers and managers to implement the agreed strategies into everyday practice
12. To strive to help each resident achieve the highest level of independence they can possibly achieve
13. As required, data collection for the overall purpose of monitoring, reviewing and improving the standard of service delivered by High View. Contribute to the continuing development of the Unit and undertake professional development as appropriate
14. Receive monthly supervision from High View management
15. To ensure that client data information is lawfully gathered, accurate and up-to-date and only divulged in accordance with the Data Protection Act. Failure to apply these duties can lead to the individual or the Department facing court proceedings
16. To participate in reviews with service users in order to develop mutually agreed outcomes for issues resulting from their physical/psychological impairment
17. To deputise for Registered Manager as required
18. To maintain accurate and concise case records and produce reports as necessary
19. To undertake any other duties as directed from time to time to meet the needs of the service.

Qualifications
- A relevant professional qualification (Social work Qualified /NVQ/CQF level 4/5 in social care or equivalent)
- A relevant management qualification
Experience
- Experience of working with vulnerable adult groups with acquired brain injury or history of substance misuse
- Supervisory Experience in residential or community setting
- Experience of working in a multi-disciplinary setting
- Experience of maintaining computerised and paper based records.
Skills Knowledge Aptitude
