We are looking for a skilled and motivated Plumbing & Drainage Engineer to join our growing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, repair, and inspection of plumbing and drainage systems across commercial and residential sites.
This role is ideal for an experienced professional with strong technical knowledge, excellent problem-solving abilities, and a commitment to delivering high-quality workmanship while maintaining the highest safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
* Install, repair, maintain, and upgrade plumbing and drainage systems in accordance with industry standards and regulations.
* Diagnose faults and carry out effective repairs to drainage and plumbing infrastructure.
* Conduct site inspections to identify defects, blockages, leaks, and potential system failures.
* Use hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and other specialist equipment safely and effectively.
* Assemble and modify pipework and associated components for new installations and refurbishment projects.
* Interpret plans, drawings, and specifications to complete works accurately.
* Perform measurements and calculations to determine material requirements and system capacities.
* Safely load, transport, and handle materials, equipment, and tools.
* Operate company vehicles when travelling between sites.
* Maintain accurate job records and communicate progress with supervisors and clients.
* Ensure work areas remain clean, organised, and compliant with health and safety requirements.
Essential Skills & Experience
* Proven experience as a Plumbing Engineer, Drainage Engineer, or similar role.
* Strong knowledge of plumbing systems, drainage networks, and associated equipment.
* Competent in the use of hand tools, power tools, and specialist plumbing equipment.
* Competent in the operation of specialist drainage machinery and equipment, including high-pressure water jetting units, electro-mechanical cleaning equipment, CCTV drainage inspection systems, and associated drainage tools.
* Experience carrying out fault diagnosis, repairs, and installations.
* Good understanding of health and safety practices within the construction and maintenance sectors.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Physically fit and capable of safely undertaking manual handling and heavy lifting duties.
* Good numeracy skills and attention to detail.
* Full UK driving licence.
Desirable Skills & Experience
* Experience in welding and fabrication.
* General construction experience.
* Experience working on commercial drainage projects.
* Relevant industry qualifications (NVQ, City & Guilds, or equivalent).
* Experience operating CCTV drainage inspection equipment or high-pressure water jetting equipment.
* Commercial vehicle driving experience.
