Kitchen Assistant Position

Nursing and Residential Home, Belper, Derbyshire Up to £13.29 p/h (plus an extra 15 p/h if NVQ qualified) | Full-Time role available | Outstanding CQC rating

Spencer Grove are looking for a permanent Kitchen assistant to join our fantastic, hard-working team. As our kitchen assistant, you’ll help to provide the food and hospitality that enable us to give our residents exceptional all-round care. You will prepare and serve food to our residents, so some experience in a care environment would be helpful.

We have a full-time position available, working alternate weekends. You will be working a mix of morning and afternoon shifts. You would provide assistance to the chef at breakfast and lunch, and tea times.

Since opening in 2009, Spencer Grove has received many awards for excellence in care, including a number of winners at the Great British Care Awards and was also awarded “Best Healthcare Development” at the LABC East Midlands Building Excellence Awards.

What we are looking for in a Kitchen Assistant:

· You may have some experience in working in a similar role, but it is not essential

· Someone who will help produce nutritious meals and create a fulfilling dining experience for our residents

· You will assist the chef with food preparation

· Keep workstations clean and tidy

· You will serve teatime meals to our residents as well as tidying and washing-up

· You will be compassionate and respectful and able to build relationships with colleagues and the residents we care for

· Hourly rate of up to £13.29 - (plus an extra15p p/h if NVQ qualified)
