Full job description

Overview
Dedicated and customer-focused Bar Associate level 0 with experience delivering exceptional service in a fast-paced sports bar environment. Skilled in preparing and serving beverages, handling card transactions, maintaining a clean and organized bar area, and creating a welcoming atmosphere for guests. Proven ability to work efficiently during busy match days and events while providing friendly, professional customer service. Strong team player with excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to ensuring an enjoyable experience for all patrons at Berkhamsted Sports Bar.

Duties

Greet customers warmly and assist with their orders in a courteous manner
Support the bar team in preparing and serving beverages according to established standards
Ensure compliance with food safety and hygiene regulations at all times
Handle cash transactions accurately using the till system
Maintain cleanliness of the bar area, including organising stock and cleaning surfaces
Assist with setting up and clearing tables as needed during busy periods
Monitor stock levels and report shortages to supervisors promptly
Follow all health and safety procedures to ensure a safe environment for staff and customers
Support the team in delivering excellent customer service to enhance guest experience

Qualifications

Previous experience in hospitality or food service is desirable but not essential
Knowledge of food safety standards is advantageous
Strong organisational skills with good time management abilities
Basic maths skills for handling cash transactions accurately
Excellent communication skills and a friendly, approachable manner
Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
Willingness to learn new skills and adapt to changing priorities

Starting at Level 0 Bar Associate, staff can progress through to Level 5 by successfully completing a series of practical assessments and knowledge-based tests. Each level reflects a greater understanding of bar operations, customer service, product knowledge, and leadership responsibilities, with higher levels receiving an increased share of the service fee pool.

All training and support will be provided, giving every team member a clear pathway to develop their skills, progress their career, and increase their earning potential.

This role provides an excellent foundation for anyone interested in developing a career within the hospitality sector, offering valuable experience in customer service, beverage preparation, and operational support.

The opening of the venue is on the 11th of June. With staff training to take place on Monday the 8th of June.
