Logistics Operative – Day Shift (Newport)
Are you organised, reliable and looking for a role where you can really make a difference? We’re looking for a Logistics Operative to join our friendly days team in Newport. Reporting to the Logistics Supervisor, you’ll help keep everything moving behind the scenes – making sure stock is received, processed, picked and dispatched smoothly and on time.
What you’ll be doing
- Keeping things organised – managing incoming and outgoing products.
- Looking after stock – placing items in the right storage areas and keeping rotation accurate.
- Picking orders with care – ensuring products are ready for the next stage.
- Staying on top of stock – spotting overstocks, shortages or issues and flagging them.
- Counting and checking – helping with stock counts when needed.
- Handling products safely – making sure everything stays in great condition.
- Keeping it tidy – maintaining our high housekeeping standards in the cooler.
- Paperwork & records – completing intake and dispatch notes accurately and on time.
- Teamwork – communicating with colleagues and raising any maintenance concerns.
- Flexibility – supporting with extra shifts when business needs it.
What we’re looking for
- A valid electric wheels and/or forklift licence.
- A good understanding of company procedures and safe working methods.
- Intermediate English skills (written and spoken).
- A good knowledge of our company handbook policies.
It’s a bonus if you also have:
- Experience using FIFO (First-In, First-Out) procedures.
- Worked with WMS systems such as Vision.
- Knowledge of floral products (varieties of flowers, greenery, and finished goods).
The details
- Shift pattern: 4 on, 4 off – 6:00am to 6:00pm
- Pay: £13.71 per hour, with overtime at 125%
- Unsociable Hours supplement at 15% between midnight and 6:00am.
- Holidays: 20 days (including bank holidays)
