Night Supervisor

Ivy Hill Hotel | Full-time Overnight shifts

About the Role

We are looking for a reliable and professional Night Supervisor to join the team at Ivy Hill Hotel. This is an important overnight role, helping to ensure our guests feel welcome, safe and well looked after throughout the night.

The successful candidate will be confident working independently, able to respond calmly to guest requests, and committed to maintaining high standards of service, cleanliness and security across the hotel.

Key Responsibilities

· Welcome late arrivals and provide a friendly overnight reception service.

· Assist with guest check-ins, check-outs, enquiries and telephone calls.

· Carry out regular security and fire safety walks around the hotel.

· Monitor the safety and security of guests, staff and the premises overnight.

· Respond promptly and professionally to guest requests, incidents or emergencies.

· Support basic night audit, handover notes and reporting for the morning team.

· Complete overnight reception administration accurately, including updating guest records and bookings, processing payments, responding to emails, preparing arrival or departure information, filing paperwork and maintaining clear handover notes for the morning team.

· Keep public areas clean, tidy and presentable during the night.

· Provide late bar service where required, serving drinks responsibly and in accordance with licensing requirements, processing payments accurately, monitoring stock, keeping the bar clean and secure, and completing the agreed closing procedures. Also assist with room service or breakfast preparation when needed.

· Ensure function and banquet rooms are set up, reset and presented accurately according to the relevant event sheets, including the specified tables, chairs, linen and equipment. Handle, position and store equipment safely, use trolleys or other handling aids where provided, and report any damaged, missing or faulty items promptly.

· Report maintenance issues, hazards or unusual activity to management.

What We’re Looking For

· Previous hotel, hospitality, reception or customer service experience is desirable.

· A calm, confident and professional approach to overnight working.

· Excellent communication skills and a positive attitude.

· Good attention to detail and the ability to follow procedures.

· Reliable, punctual and able to work well both independently and as part of a team.

· Basic IT skills; experience with hotel systems is an advantage, but training can be provided.

· Able to read and follow event sheets accurately, meet setup deadlines and maintain high presentation standards in function and banquet rooms. Must be able to move and handle tables, chairs and event equipment safely, follow manual-handling procedures, use provided equipment correctly and report defects or damage.

· Flexibility to work nights, weekends and bank holidays as required.
